Dr Pradeep Jain Fortis Hospital Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery treatment has been around since 1987 but it is only recently that minimal invasive surgery (MIS) has been getting approval as an oncological process. Eliminating cancer is very different from removing an organ such as a gallbladder. Moreover removing the tumor, lymph nodes and margin us must also be eliminated to make sure all cancer is gone. According to Dr. Pradeep Jain, Fortis Hospital Laparoscopic or MIS surgery treatment is a specific strategy for doing surgery treatment. Over the last 20 years the use of this strategy has extended into intestinal surgery treatment. In conventional “open” surgery treatment surgeon uses a single cut to open the stomach. But Laparoscopic surgery treatment uses several 0.5-1cm cuts. Each cut is known as a “port.” At each port a tubular device known as a trochar is placed.
